FOSDEM 2007 CAcert responsible needed

During FOSDEM 2007 there will be the usual keysigining party. Both for GPG/PGP and CAcert signing.

The GPG/PGP part is managed by Wouter Verhelst, but there is currently a need for someone that wants to manage the CAcert part of the signing. It will be organised at a different time (1 hour for GPG/PGP and 1 hour for CAcert) so the hassle will be less than last year where we only had 1 hour for both.

Last year I took the responsibility of managing that, but this year I have many other things to manage during the event. This means I am looking for someone that wants to manage the CAcert signing.

What does that mean? Simply preparing a few things: pens, papers of signing certificates, making a short intro, tell where Assurers should sit and where the others can pass. That's all.
Interested? mail me at: cvandeplas@fosdem.org.

Drupal performance

As Philip already told in his weblog we had our FOSDEM staff meeting yesterday. One of the things we needed to do is check performance stuff for the server.Gerry and myself went on the hunt for goodies to enhance the performance of php/drupal. After a few outdated links I came across the website of Dries with his performance analysis. You can read it here
Dries: Thank you for this nice analysis !

Inviting FOSDEM 2007 speakers

Just a short note to inform everyone we are currently inviting speakers for the FOSDEM conference. Once we have a few more confirmed speakers a temporary list will be published.

You might also have noticed that there is more and more information is coming online. It looks like poor right now, but in fact some more stuff is currently hidden for the normal visitor. It will be unhidden asap.

More information is coming soon...

FOSDEM 2007 - kickoff meeting

Last saturday we finally had our FOSDEM kickoff meeting. After a little issue we had to move the meeting somewhere else. After some driving we found an owl where we could sit down outside and have a good beer. (doh, driving means soft-drink) We had a nice meeting and discussed various things like improvements, tasks,.. for the upcoming event. If you have any ideas of things we can improve, feel free to send me a mail to cvandeplas at fosdem.org . If you'd like to be informed about the status of FOSDEM (new website,...) you should subscribe to the fosdem at lists.fosdem.org mailinglists.

Fosdem 2006 - keysigning

Fosdem 2006 is on its way to become, not bigger, but better than last year. The list of tracks is already available on the website, you will see what the speakers will talk about. Next to all this great stuff already published you might wonder, where are my devrooms? There will be the same amount rooms as last year, but before the list can be published Pascal has to finish a few things. If you're the owner of a GnuPG key or want to have a CACert certficate(either to sign/encrypt your email or to use a certificate for website/ssl purposes) you should also be there on Saturday at 15:00 in the ferrer room. Instructions for the signing party can be found on the Wiki KeySigning Page. Well for me it's time to continue studying a bit.

I Love Belgium... and you?
